I was introduced to socialize my first robot on a sunny afternoon in June. The robot, developed by students at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, named Mertz.And “the eye behind the camera sensor, which is programmed to recognize faces is, as I found, the robot should try to directly initiate such a conversation to have. But Mertz was on the fritz that day, and one of the designer, a brunette young woman named Lijin Aryananda trying to figure out what was wrong with him. Mertz began to fidget, Aryananda frustrated and I felt like I peeking behind the curtain of the Wizard of Oz.
